17th December 2002
We are coming to the end of our closed period and the batteries are
recharged ready for the coming winter season. We've been out enjoying the
current cold snap today with an ascent of hidden gully on Glyder Fawr.
Ian has been busy fitting new wardrobes and pine panelling in the house
double bedroom and we have both been working on next years brochure and
updating the web site. We are adding "Flash" more information panels
on the courses pages so hopefully these will cover all those extra
questions.
The Winter Long Weekends
start on 9th of Jan, we still have a few spaces but these are filling fast, so
reserve your place now to avoid disappointment.

9th September 2002
The summer as usual has gone in a flash, we have been very busy which has
been good news after the trials of last years foot and mouth.
We even managed a family holiday in the Alps! Courses for the remainder of
the year are almost full. We still have places on the following:-
Mountain walking 11-14
Oct

22nd May 2002
Work on our new water
supply is "well" under way.
For the last 15 years we've taken our
water from a nearby stream. Now the Tal y Waen borehole project hopefully
means a more constant supply, so no freezing in the winter, or running out
after 6 baths.
The weather has been
kind to us so far this year and most of the courses since March have taken
place in dry conditions.
The remainder of the year is looking pretty full with
only a few places remaining.

28th March 2002
Our winter season is
over and the Easter group are arriving in some beautiful spring sunshine.
In between we have had a couple of weeks to ourselves. I have been in
Scotland for the snow and ice and was lucky to catch some stunning weather(
see photo of Ben Nevis). Mandy then cycled around South Wales to research her
book.
We even managed to meet up to compete in the Polaris Mountain bike challenge.
Wading through the Black Mountain mud certainly made a change from the snow!
Our weekends are filling up fast so check the current availability here

23rd February 2002
Winter
is back at last in the mountains of Wales, after one of the mildest Februarys
on record but how long will it last?
Ned, Mike, Angela, Wayne & Brian have been out today playing in the white
stuff.
Will we be practicing our ice axe techniques indoors in a few years time ? See
Snowdome report for details

30th January 2002
We attended a noisy consultation meeting last week in Llanberis, one of a
number of local meetings held to discuss the proposed Snowdonia Green Key
strategy.
A basic summary of the proposals can be found here.
Most of the objections centred around the proposals to restrict parking within
the area.
This has the most obvious implications for our business other outdoor centres
and all walkers and climbers visiting the national park. |
19th January 2002
A consultation meeting was held in Llanberis this week to discuss the plans
for the new Snowdon summit building. Mandy went along and her report can be
found here.
We are still having fun
in the snow on our winter weekends
and a few spaces still remain.
