Mon 5th -Wed 7th Feb 2007 We have been away in Belfast over the last couple of days, so hence no snow report. Sea level- 300m
Thurs 8th Feb 2007 Returned to blizzard this morning. Not a great volume so far ( Tal y Waen 300m at 11am) but significant drifting in the gale force SE winds 400m
Fri 9th Feb 2007 Further light snow showers throughout the day. Generally thin snow cover (5cm) above 300m. Deeper drifts in areas sheltered from yesterday's SE winds 400m
Sat 10th Feb 2007 General snow cover above 300m (5-10cm). Deeper drifts and pockets of wind slab in areas sheltered from previous SE winds 400m rising above tops Poor winter climbing conditions unconsolidated snow over soft turf and very little in the way of ice build up.

Notes: This report is intended as an indicator of the likely snow & ice conditions to be encountered in northern Snowdonia . We do not have the resources to produce this report on a daily basis, but will endeavour to update it as frequently as possible. All information is based on observation, either by our instructor on the hill, or by observation from Tal y Waen. Winter conditions can vary rapidly, so an up to date weather forecast should always be consulted. One which gives freezing level, wind speed and direction at 1000m will give a good indicator of likely snow conditions. See weather links
