How To Tie on with Figure of Eight

1. Make a loop in the rope.

| 2. Take the end (a) behind and down through the
loop. |

| 3. Adjust the tail of rope:- Knot on heart, end at
fingertip, is approximately the required amount. Although this will
depend on the length of your arm and the thickness of the rope. |

| 4. Thread the tail end through the harness, then follow the
rope back through the eight. |
 |

5. Tie a stopper knot in the remaining tail so the figure of
eight doesn't work loose( See How
to tie a bowline for details). Make sure this sits right next to the
eight knot. |
